Reasons To Work Out And Stay Fit

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

There are all sorts of reasons why people would want to make sure that they workout and keep fit. Lets just examine the main possible ones.

First up, working out and keeping fit is absolutely crucial in maintaining healthy body functions and in helping to to avoid illness and live longer. If you have a lifestyle full of drinking and smoking and you fail to get fit, then you will no doubt come up against some sort of medical problem as time goes on. In order to avoid this, building yourself a healthy lifestyle full of light workouts and cardio exercise is the best possible thing you can do. Not only will this stave off medical problems, but it will also help you to lead a general healthy lifestyle where you will not drink too much or smoke.

Another reason to get exercise is not only for a healthy body but also for a healthy mind. Studies have shown that when you work out your body releases endorphins that act just like antidepressants and help you to have positive feelings. Therefore, if ever you are feeling low and depressed, the best thing you can do is simply head out for a run or a swim.

Of course, for many people, working out and keeping as fit as possible forms a massive part of their working life. Look at athletes, for example. They will all — in one form or another — get certain exercises and workouts that will help them to get to the top of their field in whatever they are trying to achieve and in whatever sport they are playing. Developing lean muscle growth is a great way to improve your sporting ability.

In the same way, other professions will also call for you to be fit. Take for example, the army. Anyone in the army is required to go through difficult stages of fitness on a regular basis in order to get them into peak physical condition. In fact, all through the armed services and other industries, people are required to keep fit and healthy so they can perform their duties well.

Of course, vanity also plays a massive part. It is not only vanity but generally wanting to attract the opposite sex that makes people want to look at good as they can.

All of these are common reasons why people like to work out and stay fit. If you ever need help with this, then it’s a good idea to enlist the help of a personal trainer to help you through your fitness regime.

Start Your Weight Loss Program Today

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

In my late teens I was far to over-weight and was not happy about it. Then I would write a list of all of the ways in which I was going to lose weight – the problem being that I would then not act on them.

I suppose that I was obese due to the fact that I comfort ate because I had a stutter. The stuttering treatment on offer was not working and I could just see no prospect of me to ever stop stuttering.

These are the reasons I would make at that stage of my life, to put off my attempts at losing weight:

I am too tired. In the morning, I would wake up with very good intentions. I would tell myself that after I finish work, that I would go for a short jog. I would then do some fitness work at home such as using the dumb bell weights which I had bought many months ago. I would also try a few press ups and also start watching what I was eating.

After work, I would return home and would then make up the excuse that I am too tired. Instead of going for a jog today, I would start my fitness regime tomorrow etc. Working for a composite door company, selling cheap holidays, was far from easy and I would come home very tired. This is perhaps one reason why I now work for a group of DVD duplication experts lol.

I have a rather aching body today. This was a regular excuse. I would tell myself that if I start exercising today, I may well do myself more damage than good.

It could be dangerous. When thinking in more depth about my great plan to go running I then started to convince myself that it could, in reality, be quite dangerous. I could bump into a murderer or a rapist who could then in turn end up killing me?

I eventually after many years decided to stop making up these excuses. I had to be determined to not only start up a fitness regime but to stick to it. It was not easy at all but after quite a long time I reached a weight which I was happy with.
