Words Of Wisdom About Peace
In today's hectic world, giving
peace seems to be a long lost wisdom. We've got to get ahead, we've got to
worry about what on the news and what's happening in the world, we've got to
struggle to keep sane and keep our balance. The circumstances of our lives
seem to cause stress and anxiety on a regular basis. Peace is a good idea,
sure, but in general we don't feel much of it.
Yet for all these reasons peace can be such a valuable addition to our daily
experience. Just a dash of peace a day can reduce stress and anxiety in our
lives. It can really make a big difference in helping us to relax and enjoy
the flow of life. Peace is a powerful resource we can bring to hectic
lives to add a lot more satisfaction and quality to our experience.
Here is one of the most effective forms of self help wisdom. Practice peace.
Learn to give it to yourself and the world around you. Give yourself peace,
and do it on purpose. You don't have to wait for everything to be going your
way or perfectly before you can feel peace.
There are actually several ways to give yourself more peace. Here we'll
outline just one simple method. It will take just three minutes or so a day.
Will you give yourself three minutes a day to start flooding your life with
more peace?
One simple method is called Peacefully Remaining. You sit alone for 3
minutes and peacefully remain with whatever comes across your awareness. You
can have your eyes open or closed, it doesn't matter. You can do this at
home in the morning or when you get back from work, you can do it in the car
or at work at lunchtime.
Whatever thoughts you are having, you allow them. You don't try to change
them or make them different. Whatever emotions you are having, you allow
them. You peacefully remain with them. You don't try to have different
feelings. For at least three minutes, you practice giving your consciousness
some generous spaciousness. Whatever arises you allow it to be there without
struggle or effort.
As a general rule, we human beings are unconsciously at war with what is. We
are usually trying to resist or change our experience. We struggle with our
thoughts and emotions, trying to have good ones and get rid of bad ones. For
3 minutes, you simply practice allowing things to be the way they are. You
just breathe and notice and let things be okay just as they arise in your.
Give yourself a few minutes of peace a day and see what happens. If you want
to make the world a more peaceful place, start with yourself.
Words of Wisdom Reflections:
How much peace do you feel in your
life now?
How much allowance and acceptance
do you have for your own process?
Do you have a peace practice that
increases it?
